The Questioning Period Diary
The Questioning Period Diary
Why are people so disgraced by its
glory? Is it the blood? Why do people shy away? Why are people’s mouths shut
and voices lowered when this becomes the topic? A Private talk turned
Secretive. It is the glory of a healthy woman. The power bestowed to raise
another life. Why does this topic still linger in the darkness?
Just another biological process
just like how the bone marrow produces Red blood cells, white blood cells, and
platelets. 50 percent of the people go through this and the other 50 are
completely unaware of it. It’s completely different from the sanitary pad
advertisements.
When you go to buy an expensive car
like a Mercedes, don’t you learn about all the cool features, the luxury
elements, the splendid specifications? Learning about your body before fitting
into it is something all kids should get.
Young girls, on the steps of the
teenage door hitting puberty, having their first period, completely unaware of
what lies ahead in the big wide house they face. Why are they clueless and
confused? Why? Shouldn’t they be told about everything they need to know from
people who already know? But are the majority of the parents shying away from
them? If this is the case how would the situation of a kid in the care of a caregiver?
Her body already tearing within
herself. Her emotions carrying her to places she’s never been. Her mind longing
for peace. She longs for comfort and all that is offered is casting her away,
calling her impure. What for? Why is the process of motherhood two-faced like a
coin? On one side is great respect, honour and value and on the other side is
neglect, shame and disgrace.
So much has improved in terms of
material advancement, sanitary pads, tampons, menstrual cups, period panties,
etc. all in different designs, fragrances, sizes and shapes to make life
easier. Why isn’t it easier? There is less or no improvement in the minds of
people.
And that’s the problem here.
Teachers feel ashamed to teach the reproductive system chapter. Students learn
from friends who definitely aren’t the best educators. Mothers teach their
daughters exactly what she was taught. Why aren’t sons taught anything? Is this
a lesson they have to learn somewhere very late in life?
Because it's the disgraced glory . Let the minds change
